Last month we shared resources on how to be prepared for the next storm, so this month we thought we would share resources on what to do after the storm. Maryland has experienced quite a bit of thunderstorms and tornado warnings. While we urge Marylanders to prepare to avoid the risk of damage to their property, sometimes it is unavoidable. So, what happens if you are impacted by the effects of a storm?
We have created these resources, including topics such as:
- Quick tips if you have damage after a storm
- How to file a claim
- What if a tree falls on your property
- Videos, resource cards, and more
While the Maryland Insurance Administration does not sell insurance and we cannot recommend a particular policy or insurance company, we do want to help you learn what types of coverage are available. Additionally, we are here to assist you if you have a complaint involving an insurer, an insurance producer, public adjuster or adviser.
Summer in Maryland brings sunshine and fun—but also seasonal risks. There are usually severe storms, increased travel (especially down the ocean), boating on the Chesapeake Bay, backyard pool time, grilling outdoors, and more.
Not including weather, summer activities can bring unexpected challenges. Fortunately, many of these risks may be managed with adequate insurance coverage.
