Child Care Now Newsletter - Spring 2022

April 2-8, 2022 is the Week of the Young Child®, an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world's largest early childhood education association. GSA is a NAEYC  “large system user” and one of their  Accreditation Facilitation Projects (AFP). NAEYC is an important industry partner as it supports our providers in delivering high quality affordable child care for federal employees.  The Week of the Young Child® focuses public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

May 6 is Child Care Provider Appreciation Day!

Thank you GSA Child care providers for supporting the Federal workforce’s return to the office. It doesn’t take a pandemic for us to know the essential role you play in our program.

We appreciate the support you provide to families who juggle both workplace responsibilities and the needs of their little ones. The past year we have seen countless examples of you going to great lengths to re-open your doors, bring the children back, and provide safe and stable environments.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) partnered with GSA to sponsor a new Child Care Center for federal employee families and the community. 

TeleTots is a brand new, state-of-the-art child care center co-located with the FCC’s Headquarters in NoMa, Washington, D.C. It is operated by Reggio’s Treehouse. 

TeleTots will have both full and part-time enrollment options and daily drop-in care, subject to availability, with programs available for infants through children six years of age.
